DESCRIPTION:\nPlease join us for a presentation about the Lowcountry Land Trust as well as updates from Bob Baldwin on key issues in the conservation easement arena with regard to IRA enforcement and attacks on easements. Lunch will be at High Cotton located at 199 E Bay Street. \n \n \n \nAshley Demosthenes, President and CEO, and lifelong resident of Charleston,\n began her formal conservation career in 1998 with The Nature Conservancy in\n South Carolina. She worked for sixteen years negotiating local, state and federal land\n acquisition projects and conservation easements across the state. Ashley became\n Lowcountry Land Trust’s first Director of Conservation in 2013, managing\n the conservation and land stewardship program for the Trust. In March of 2015, Ashley\n was promoted to President & CEO. Ashley oversees the entire operation of the Trust\n with a special emphasis on strategic conservation leadership, fundraising and public\n policy. Ashley graduated with a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of\n Vermont. She is a Liberty Fellow from the class of 2019, serves on the Land Trust\n Alliance National Board, the Alliance’s Leadership Council, and leads the South\n Carolina Land Trust Network as Vice Chair of the Board. She is deeply rooted in the\n Lowcountry where she and her husband and three children live, work, and play.\n
